New Champion: Little Prince
The future king is here! This young menace stole the Champion Scroll with the help of Guardienne, and this has turned him into a Champion!
The Little Prince is a skillful crowssbowman, he’s able to shoot with astounding speed once he warms up. And don’t be fooled into thinking he’s fragile, Guardienne can jump into the arena to support him at any moment.
The card description says as follows:
Who let their nephew into the arena?! This mischievous Royal gains Hit Speed when firing, as long as he stands still!
He may look weak, but he’s always being watched over from afar...
Card Stats
Little Prince is a 3 elixir ranged troop with variable Hit Speed. His Champion Ability also costs 3 elixir.
Stats Breakdown
Let’s start with the basics: 700 Hitpoints, very close to Musketeer (720 HP). This puts him in the higher-end glass-cannon category, being able to survive a Fireball hit, but not Poison or heavy spells.
Troop / Spell | Hit Points |
---|---|
Fireball Damage | 689 |
Little Prince HP | 700 |
Musketeer HP | 720 |
Poison Damage | 728 |
His range is 6 tiles, like the Musketeer as well. As most ranged troops, he’s able to shoot air and ground targets.
Troop | Range |
---|---|
Archer | 5 |
Cannon Cart | 5.5 |
Little Prince | 6 |
Musketeer | 6 |
Dart Goblin | 6.5 |
Describing his Damage isn’t as straightforward. The Little Prince has a very peculiar mechanic, as his Hit Speed rumps up over time. It will seem familiar to Inferno Dragon and Inferno Tower, but with many projectiles instead of a single beam. Although a significant difference is that the ramp up damage is only reset if the Little Prince moves, meaning that as long as he’s within range, he can switch targets and keep his max DPS.
Each of the crossbow projectiles deals 110 damage at tournament standard level (level 11), similar to a normal Archer (107). He starts shooting once every 1.2 seconds, the 3rd and 4th shots are 2x faster, and peak 3x speed is reached after that.
Stage | Hits | Hit Time | Hit Speed | DPS |
---|---|---|---|---|
Slow | 1 - 2 | 1.2 | 0.83 | 92 |
Medium | 3 - 4 | 0.6 | 1.67 | 183 |
Fast | 5+ | 0.4 | 2.50 | 275 |
To get a real idea of the Damage Per Second (DPS), it’s worth taking a look mainly at the Fast stage, which is where most of the damage will come from. This chart shows how despite the slow start, the high DPS lets him catch up with Musketeer and Dart Goblin after a few seconds.
Here are a few more comparisons with ground troops of similar range:
Troop | DPS |
---|---|
Archer | 119 |
Little Prince (Medium) | 183 |
Dart Goblin | 187 |
Archer Queen | 188 |
Musketeer | 218 |
Little Prince (Fast) | 275 |
Archer Queen Ability | 338 |
Nearly as much DPS as the invisible Archer Queen... not bad.
Due to all this, the Little Prince will have the most trouble against medium-sized troops and small swarms, where the slow damage start will be the most noticeable.
Champion Ability: Royal Rescue
For the cost of 3 elixir you get a troop that strongly resembles the usual Knight, although with a very distinct appearance. The deployment effect is also quite different, and could remind you of a Barbarian Barrel.
Champion Ability description:
Guardienne charges into battle, dealing Charge Damage and pushing enemies back!
Here’s a more detailed comparison with Knight:
Stat | Guardienne | Knight |
---|---|---|
Hitpoints | 1800 | 1766 |
Damage | 200 | 202 |
Hit Speed | 0.83 | 0.83 |
First Hit Time | 0.2 | 0.4 |
As you can see, most of these stats are almost identical. Range, sight range, movement speed... all these stats are the same. The main difference we’ve noticed is that Guardienne has a significantly higher troop mass, making pushback effects less effective.
Guardienne enters the arena with a ridiculously strong charge. It starts behind the Little Prince and goes forward several tiles, pushing away all ground targets that stand in this path. A P.E.K.K.A will be pushed away as if she was made of paper, even Monk cannot deflect the charge!
This charge has a width of around 4 tiles and deals 400 damage to ground targets, which is enough to destroy most small troops like skeletons and archers. Comparing it to The Log gives you a good sense of the area that it covers: similar width but a bit shorter.
In terms of damage, it will destroy some troops that sit between Arrows and Fireball. For example:
Troop / Damage | Hit Points |
---|---|
The Log | 290 |
Arrows | 366 |
Evo Archer | 378 |
Evo Firecracker | 394 |
Guardienne Charge | 400 |
Magic Archer | 532 |
Fireball | 689 |

We mainly focus on stats and card information, leaving in-depth gameplay to other creators. But here are a few short clips that should give you a basic understanding of Little Prince’s mechanics:
LP vs Arrows: surviving small spells is one of the key features for this Champion. At 3 elixir, it becomes a clear difference against cards like Dart Goblin. Check out how a sliver of health is enough to create a lot of trouble:
